    Description

    This is a WWI era Austrian OEWG (Oesterreichsche Waffenfabrik Gesellschaft,Steyr ) M95 Knife Bayonet for Mannlicher Rifle . It comes with a Rolled Blue SteelScabbard. Markings and Dimensions are as follows;
    * OE over WG on the Ricasso
    * Faint remains of either the Austrian Hapsburg Eagle or Sultan’s mark on Pommel. Looks more like body of Eagle to me ??
    * Faint remains of ASFA (Turkish/Ottoman Empire Askeri Fabrikasi-Military Factory) on Pommel
    * Underside of Pommel has a CIRCLE with Small P inside.
    * 17207 stamped on one side of Cross Piece
    * Length of blade approx. 9.625”
    * Fullers are approx. 7”
    * Muzzle Ring inside dimension approx. 15.42mm
    * T-slot w/push button release
    * Wooden handle slabs
    This appears to have been converted for use by ASFA sometime Post 1928 ?
    Condition is Good for a Military Weapon of this age. Blade has scratches and dings. Tip has a slight bend. Wood handles are tight/solid but have dings. Push button works as it should. Scabbard has scratches/dings/small splits in metal. Scabbard also shows a distinct line of rubbing or “cleaner” metal from previous use of a proper Frog.
