AN EXTREMELY RARE SET OF WORLD WAR ONE ERA BETHLEHEM STEEL HOWITZER GUN CARRIAGE BLUEPRINTS. THEY ARE ALL FULL SIZE BLUEPRINTS FROM 1916-1917 AS DATED.
EACH IS VERY DETAILED AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PHOTOS. I WILL LET THE PHOTOS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. I DO HAVE MORE PHOTOS IF NEEDED. NOT ALL BLUEPRINTS ARE SHOWN.
THERE ARE 11 BLUEPRINTS TOTAL INCLUDED IN THIS SALE. EACH BLUEPRINT IS APPROXIMATELY 26 1/2" TALL AND ABOUT 40" WIDE. TWO OF THE PRINTS ARE PARTS LISTS, THE REST ARE THE HOWITZER GUN CARRIAGE SCHEMATICS.
This item is ONE OF THOSE RARE FINDS... THAT APPEALS TO MANY DIFFERENT COLLECTORS. THIS IS MORE OF A TRIPLE CROSS COLLECTIBLE, FOR THOSE BETHLEHEM STEEL COLLECTORS, THE WORLD WAR ONE COLLECTORS, AND FOR GUN COLLECTORS
THESE BLUE PRINTS CAME FROM THE PERSONAL COLLECTION OF HARRY RINKER, A WELL KNOWN COLLECTOR AND WRITER OF A LARGE NUMBER OF COLLECTIBLE BOOKS OVER THE YEARS. HE HAS BEEN SELLING OFF A LARGE PORTION OF HIS PERSONAL COLLECTION AND THIS RARE PIECE IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG.
NOW THAT THE BETHLEHEM STEEL PROPERTY IS BEING USED BY THE ARTSQUEST CENTER AND THE WIND CREEK CASINO (FORMERLY SANDS CASINO), THESE WOULD LOOK WONDERFUL FRAMED AND DISPLAYED SOMEWHERE ON THEIR PROPERTY. I LOVE TO SEE HISTORICAL ITEMS LIKE THIS GO BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM SO THAT MANY PEOPLE CAN ENJOY THIS WONDERFUL PIECE OF LOCAL HISTORY.
CONDITION: This lot is in excellent overall condition with minor wear from age and use. The main problem with these is edge wear. These have been stores rolled for many years with chipping but to not affect the plans themselves. The worst wear is to the outside most blueprint when they were rolled, it is the last one pictured. It has a piece ripped off it (as shown), and is included. The rest of the prints are in great shape with mainly aforementioned minor edge wear at the top and bottom from storage. Overall these would look amazing framed.
