    Scarce Matched Pair of Large Size Early American Vintage Antique Antebellum WOODEN ICE SKATES With ORIGINAL LEATHER STRAPS, c.1840 !!!
    DESCRIPTION:
    Nice pair of early American antique WOODEN ICE SKATES. Scans show it all. Consist of wooden shoe-shaped skates, with steel skate blades attached. Nice style and early design to the front end of the steel blades. These are very scarce as they still have most of the leather straps and buckles that were used to attach the skates to the skater’s shoes. Original leather straps are EXTREMELY RARE TO FIND ON THESE AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. Both leather toe holders are still present on each skate as shown.
    These make a great decoration item, especially for Christmas and the winter, although they are really neat as antique items generally. They can hang on the wall or go on a mantel or other furniture. A REALLY NICE, UNUSUALLY SPECIAL PAIR OF ANTIQUE SKATES !!! These are very early, probably 1820-1840. Large size, measuring about 13 1/2” long x 2” wide.
