Antique 1887 Dutch Silver Abraham & Isaac Bible Scene Serving Scoop Spoon 4 3/4"

Description

Presented is an antique, Dutch silver serving spoon or scoop made in The Netherlands in 1916. This early 20th century piece is very ornately designed. The handle is hand chased with genre scenes and the bowl is done in a pierced or openwork form that has a raised scene from the bible of Abraham about to kill his son Isaac, with the angel coming down from Heaven to stop him. This is a wonderful quality, completely hand crafted piece.
The spoon is marked with the Minerva head mark, the 2nd silver standard lion mark for at least 833 purity silver, a date letter G for the year 1916 and a maker's mark.
This piece is in excellent condition and the designs are very crisp.
