1992 Press Photo Betty Grossman & Tom Burke, Birdwatchers at Cummings Park
This is an original press photo. A number of bird watchers were at Cummings Park beach on Sunday looking for the Eared Grebe, which was reported to be in the area. The Eared Grebe is usually found in the mid-west or west but one was reported sited at Cummings Beach two weeks ago. These bird watchers found out about it from the Connecticut Rare Bird Alert and the New York Rare Bird Alert. The rare bird alerts are phone numbers you can call to find out if there have been any sightings in the area. Betty Grossman, of Riverside, and Tom Burke, of Rye, New York, peer out at Long Island Sound looking for the Eared Grebe. They are at Cummings Beach in Stamford. Photo measures 10 x 8 inches. Photo is dated -- 1992.
